I didn't set out to become a web designer... It all happened by accident!
When I was a new entrepreneur I was pretty short on cash. Not wanting to take out a business loan I was doing it all from my own money. Like many I thought I would save money and create my own website. Had I known what I was getting myself into I probably wouldn't be here today!
When I created my first website I experienced extreme and intense frustration, irritation and confusion. I signed up with a website hosting company that promised to make everything "easy, simple and beautiful." I was so excited that I would be able to create and launch my website in just a few hours. My brand new website was going to be "reliable, efficient and affordable." This gorgeous new site was going to bring my ideal clients right to my doorstep!
My "hours to launch" turned into weeks of long days, sometimes late into the night. I sacrificed time focusing on my new business, time with my family, and sleep, all of this to get me to that big moment of launching my website and business to the world.
Finally my big day came, and I launched my website!
I sat at my computer buzzing with excitement waiting for my ideal clients to discover me. I knew these future clients were going to love my new website and before I knew it my business would be booming! After all that is exactly what I had been promised.
Except that isn't what happened. In fact, only 300 people visited my first site in the year I had it. (Thank God for family and friends!) The visibility I had been promised never happened.
To add to my frustration, the reliability wasn't there either. My site would go down in the middle of the day due to "technical issues," and on at least three occasions, changes I had made would suddenly disappear so I had no choice but to do them again!
I cannot tell you how many times I felt lost and intimidated
Creating and then maintaining this website was no easy task. It seemed like there was always something to do, something to fix, something to update. Toss in the poor reliability I was dealing with, and let's just say there were a lot of headaches, a lot of swearing and a whole lot of tears. The worst part of it all was... I have a background in technology!
I knew that if I was having these struggles and challenges I was not alone. Others with less experience in technology had to be going crazy. As my contract with that company ended I knew I had to make a BIG change!
I made it my mission to find a better way...
As I talked with other coaches and small business owners I realized that I really wasn't alone in my struggles. So this better of way of creating websites, wasn't just for me. It was for everyone who had ever been in my shoes and had felt the frustration, irritation and confusion of creating a website. Over the past five years I have tried a lot of websites builders, tried 100s of themes, and redesigned my website dozens of times. All of the work, headaches, long hours, sweat and tears was worth it. I have learned the ins and outs and now I really can launch an incredibly gorgeous website quickly and easily. A website that is visible, reliable and affordable. I have become the accidental web designer!
Now my mission has grown beyond my needs as a business owner, and I am using my web design talents to help others launch their website and business for the world to see! These are not the cookie cutter websites you see all over the web.
I don't just work with anyone! (Although I love everyone!)
We have to know up front that working together is a good fit for both of us. So we will start with a 30 minute call and take the time to get to know each other. I want to know all about your business, your goals and your dreams for the future. And it is super important that you get to know me too! How I work, what my zone of genius is, and how I operate.
If it feels like a good fit for us both, we'll take the next step. If it doesn't, then I wish you so much luck and will be happy to refer you to someone who may be a better fit.
Mentorship & Support
I am also here to offer guidance and support through a nurturing mentorship. I have been there, and know how it feels to put yourself out there for the world to see. The risks you are taking matter, and I love your courage in facing them. I know what it feels like to want to give up and go back to a "real job," and what it feels like to keep moving forward and pursuing your dreams.
I would love to visit with you, and learn more about your business, your mission and your goals for the future. There are no strings attached to this visit. I simply want to learn more about how you are making the world a better place, and I would love to share my thoughts on the gorgeous website we can create together. When you are ready I am here to take your frustration, irritation and confusion away!
